ROADTRIPPING MALLORCA'S NORTH COAST

Zoals je eerder kon lezen hadden Tom en ik op Mallorca een auto gehuurd, waarmee we één dag langs de oost/zuid kust tourden en één dag de noordkust. Daar waar de oostkust een en al badplaats is, is het Noorden heuvelachtiger en vind je hier, naar mijn mening, authentiekere stadjes. Op deze dag bezochten we Sóller, uitkijkpunt Son Marroig en Valldemossa.

As you could read earlier, Tom and I rented a car in Mallorca. We spent one day touring the east / south coast and the other day we explored the north coast. Where the east coast is packed with seaside resorts, the North is hilly and, in my view, more authentic towns. On this day we visited Sóller, lookout point Son Marroig and Valldemossa.

SÓLLER

Sóller is een klein stadje, die bekend staat om de authentieke trein die zowel tussen Palma de Mallorca en Sóller loopt als tussen het centrum van Sóller en haar strand. Tip: slenter door de kleine straatjes en geniet van een drankje op het Placa Contitucid.

Sóller is a small town known for its authentic train that runs between Palma de Mallorca and Sóller as well as between the center of Sóller and its beach. Tip: Stroll through the little streets and enjoy a drink at the Placa Contitucid.

SON MARROIG

Onderweg van Sóller naar Valldemossa of andersom, kom je langs uitkijkpunt Son Marroig. Vanuit de bergweggetjes is er een mogelijkheid om af te slaan naar de parkeerplaats. Vanuit hier ben je in een kleine wandeling bij dit prachtige uitzicht. Het plekje is tevens geliefd voor bruiloften, wat ik absoluut snap.

On the way from Sóller to Valldemossa or vice versa, you will come by the lookout point of Son Marroig. From the mountain roads there is a possibility to go to the parking lot. From here you can take a short walk to this beautiful view. The place is also known for weddings, which I can totally understand.

VALLDEMOSSA

En dan, alweer zo'n geweldig stadje: Valldemossa. Ieder straatje of gevel van een huis is gevuld met planten, wat Valldemossa met haar 2000 inwoners een van de mooiste steden van Mallorca maakt. Slenter langs de vele cafeetjes, toeristenwinkels en gallerijen en vergeet niet een rondje te lopen door de tuin achter de kerk.

And then, another great town: Valldemossa. Every street or facade of a house is filled with plants, which makes Valldemossa with its 2000 inhabitants one of the most beautiful cities in Mallorca. Stroll along the many cafes, tourist shops and galleries and do not forget to walk around the garden behind the church.
