June 24th, the MEP in Paris opened her doors for new expositions, and I decided to go there with my friend Eline.
Without really knowing what to expect, we bought our tickets (reduced rate) and went in. You will have seen everything in this museum in 1-2 hours, but offers a nice arrangement of works. From cat photography (including cat opera music), to hippies in America and black-and-white portraits of famous people.
The exposition that appealed to me the most was the one of Alice Springs. June Newton (her real name) was married to Helmut Newton, who had his own photo studio in Melbourne. When her husband was sick during a photoshoot, he decided to give his camera to June. People fell in love with her work, and June started her own career under the name Alice Springs. She had the chance to take the portraits of lots of famous people (Audrey Hepburn among others). What a dream!
I can definitely recommend visiting this museum if you ever find yourself in Paris.
