Musée D'Orsay

Het Musée D'Orsay in Parijs is een kunstmuseum met werken uit 1848-1914, met een sterk accent op de 19e-eeuwse Franse kunst. Vorige week woensdag bezocht ik dit prachtige museum samen met Wout.
Net zoals in het Louvre, liepen we kletsend door het museum en bleven we hier en daar stilstaan bij een schilderij waar erg veel andere mensen bij stilstonden. Toen we de eerste Picasso herkenden waren we beiden blij met herkenning, in het gedeelte met schilderijen van Van Gogh voelden we ons helemaal thuis als Nederlanders en de bij de maquette van de Opéra Garnier viel bij ons beiden de mond open van verbazing. 
Foto's maken was helaas niet toegestaan.. Maar gelukkig heb ik er toch een paar gemaakt waar het wel mocht! (Alleen die in de hal was verboden.. shhhtt!).


The Musée D'Orsay in Paris is a museum with art from 1848-1914, with a strong accent on the French art from the 19th century. Last wednesday I visited this beautiful museum together with Wout.
Just like in the Louvre, we walked around talking to each other and now and then we took a moment to appreciate a piece of art, mainly because a lot of other people were standing there. When we saw the first Picasso we were both very relieved that we recognized something, in the part with paintings from Van Gogh we both felt like home and when we saw the model of the Opéra Garnier we were both stunned.
Taking pictures wasn't allowed... But fortunately I was able to still take a few! (Only the one in the main hall wasn't allowed.. shhhtt!)
